“Narratives" is a series of works that explores the concept of story and the ways in which we create and interpret narratives. Drawing inspiration from mythology, spirituality, and fictional characters, this series is an exploration of both real and imagined journeys.
As a neurodiverse artist, I see the world differently, and my work often reflects this unique perspective. In "Narratives," I seek to express the stories of my characters through the objects and animals they carry, rather than relying solely on body language. This allowed me to explore the nuances of storytelling in a way that feels more intuitive and natural to me. Using a variety of mediums including ink, pencil, acrylic, and oil, I seek to create a rich and textured world that feels both real and imaginary. Each piece is a unique exploration of the characters and their journeys, and the narrative elements that surround them serve to express what I imagine body language expresses to non-autistic people or those better at picking up on social cues. Overall, "Narratives" is a celebration of the power of storytelling and the ways in which we shape our own narratives. The series invites the viewer to explore a rich and fantastical world filled with complex characters and captivating journeys.
